The General Assembly of OAFLA including the meetings of the Steering Committee and the Technical Advisors, will be held between the 30th January 2010 and 1st February 2010 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, hosted by the current President of OAFLA, the first lady of Ethiopia Her Excellency W/o Azeb Mesfin. The major focus of this General Assembly will be to launch the strategic plan that was adopted at the sub-regional and country level including the PMTCT initiative. Zambia has already initiated this process through the Maternity Protection Act as a strategy to promote PMTCT with the SADCC countries. The secretariat has participated in this initiative actively and hopes that Zambia can share its experiences with all OAFLA members. During this meeting OAFLA members will also focus on a realistic goal of developing a plan of action in order to launch initiatives that are included in the strategic plan, assess the feasibility and discuss the mobilization of resources for this plan. |
