Establishment of OAFLA Secretariat

Following the decision at the General Assembly of the Organization of African First Ladies against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA) that took place on the 01 February 2010, the seat of the permanent secretariat of OAFLA has been established in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Secretariat has been fully operational since March 2012 with the new full time Executive Secretary, Communication Officer and Programme Officer.

New OAFLA President

OAFLA president H.E Madam Azeb Mesfin, First Lady of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has handed over the presidency to H.E. Madam Penehupifo Pohamba, First Lady of the Republic of Namibia. The handover ceremony took place in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea in June 2011.
